I got approved last week, and should be getting my GC stamp (on I-94 .. I have no passport) soon. If I need to travel after GC stamp, do I still apply for RTD? Is that what GC holders who have no national passport do? Would it still take up to 5 months to get, and be good for only a year? Or...

No, it wasn't a yellow paper. It was all white paper, and it didn't say "Request for Initial Evidence." The only title was "Request for Evidence."

Nope. Just got one RFE (medical and bio) about three weeks ago. Sent it back last week. No interview (except the original one in 1998 of course!) Is my case unusual?

I just got an email today that my I-485 was approved!! I only sent back my medical RFE a week ago, so I'm really impressed that the approval came through so quickly. BTW, my ND is May 1, 2000. So all you out there with that date or earlier, you might be as pleasantly surprised soon :)

Hey Punky, I have a q for you: did you travel on RTD after your asylum approval and now? I am trying to see if there is a trend for INS asking all RTDs and travel information - whether it depends on your situation or not. Yes, I travelled once on RTD after my asylum approval.

I'm thinking of volunteering in Ghana for up to 6 months later this year. Is there any problem with being out of the US for that long on an RDT? I'm an asylee as of 1999, applied for PR back in May of 2000, and still waiting for approval.
