J Waiver Question
I have filed with the D of state for the waiver based on hardship.
Then I filed I-612 with the INS.
INS phone system says that it will take 45-60 days. However, DOS says that it will take 4-6 months. Which one is it?

I had a similar experience. call the DOS phone line and give them your your number. They will be able to asnwer the questions about the status of your application.

Here is my experience
I have changed from H1 to F1 in the past. I did it in Canada a few years ago with no problem. However, I am not sure if changing from anything to J* would be the same.
