Hi All,

I have "FNU" (first name unidentified) issue in my Visa as i do not have a last name in my passport.

example
Passport - first name : vandana das
last name : blank
visa - first name : FNU (because, i dont have last name/surname in passport)
last name : vandana das

I 94 - same as visa.

NOW, PROBLEM is I am not getting SSN.
They are saying that all the names should be matching.
They are telling to go to indian embassy and get it rectified.

I had mailed the Indian Embassy explaining my problem.
They said, to apply for name splitting in passport
.i.e, first name as vandana and last name as das.
In that case also, all the 3 names wont mach.

Has anybody undergone this situation. Please let me know what should i do to overcome this?
