J1 stamp

I have been in J1 status sine July 1999 with a valid visa from El Paso in Oct 2000 that expired with my IAP 66 in June 2001. Any info on chances of getting a stamp in Canada ? My hope is that since this is a renewal in same category,not a conversion,I should not have a problem. I would hate to...
