I am sure applying for an H1B is very different from applying for an asylum as you just need a job for H1B. As for an asylum, you have to explain really well your fear of something which can lead the IO's to suspect that you are unqualified if you mis-present something. I am sure a good attorney...
I heard that if I apply for an asylum while on F1 and fail, I can get deported. Is that true? If that is the case, I can even get re-arrested (if I get deported) at the airport back in my country.
I have always thought that I can continue to stay on F1 even if my asylum application is not...
