H-4 Holder Passport expires

Hi, I am in Illinois state, USA. I am on H1 and my wife is on H4. My H1 expires in Oct 2008. But, my wife's passport expiry date is in 2007. How can her Passport be extended? Does she need to visit India for any reason? Can anyone please guide? -Mihir Chhaya.
