Can one travel outside US if he has a valid (unexpired) H4 but is working using EAD card that he got from pending AOS. Does working using EAD on pending AOS makes H4 invalid? Thanks

I am a canadian and I go to school in California. My X company in Canada wants me to get some bussiness for them while I am here in California. Will it be legal for me to talk to clients on their behalf. I will get paid in Canada only (when I will go back) not in US. Please help. Thanks
