US citizen travel on Indian passport within 3 months of citizenship --- legal?

I am also facing the same situation of traveling to India before the 3-month grace period. It seems like I can travel to India within 3-months, but want to be 100% sure. --* nriinformation.com/images/hongkong_consulate.jpg--
