    Issue of I-20, Converting from H1 to F1 later

    Will the school contact the INS for issuing the I20. I got layed off (I had a H1).so while my new company is processing my H1 tranfer. Can I apply for a Masters(I 20) and later apply for a change of status from H1B (I mean with my new H1B) to F1 Please Reply! Thanks!

    To Praful I have a Qustion for you.. Is it not that The international Students office at the school you plan to go to, handle this for you? Only that you want to hurry up the process by going to mexico. I really dont know the answer if you can come back to US on your H1.
