It appears to me that Google scholar does not do a good job. It only gives less than half of the citations you can find in Sci Citation Index. For examples, for a paper I published last year, google only gives me 5 citations, whereas SCI index returns 14. Big Difference!!!

I think this is really important. Keep in mind people care number of citations because it indicates how much impact your work has. The fact that your website has been referred by >1000 website also indicates the large impact your work has, even though we cannot call it citation. Iris
