    Can you travel on H4 visa(between April and October)after you apply for H1B in April

    My wife is on a H4 visa. She is applying for H1B visa in April. We plan to go to India in April and was wondering if she can come back on H4 visa by May ? Is this risky? Will her status change immediately once she applies for H1B ? or does it change from October? Please advise
