thanx..I did not see parents in any of the FB categories..and was not sure where they come under..
Thanx for the info that "Parents are immediate relatives and as such do not require a visa number or a priority date wait"..hopefully, that will noot change 5-6 years from now when the time...
PraetorianXI,
Thanx for the prompt reply..1 more question: Once I become a Citizen and appy for their GC, is the 1-year estimate realistic? (looking at the Family based retro from the visa bulletin, the wait for India is currently 5 years..or Is the visa bulletin for some other Family-based...
I am a GC holder (got recently..see my sig for details) and I am thinking of doing a GC for my parents. I am their only child and they r in good health right now..but considering their ages (60+), I will need to support them 5-10 years from now. At that time, I will prefer to have them here as...
Some folks (a small majority) are asked to come in for an interview and if all their checks have been cleared and their PD is current, then (often), their passport is stamped. This stamp is just a temp/stop-gap approval. The final/more-robust approval is when they receive the physical GC. Check...
Not sure what u mean by "from 485 approval to get the final green card." => Approval of 485 results in the generation of the card. The only steps would be getting 2/3 LUDs ("Card Production Ordered", "Welcome letter" & "Approval notice") in any order. Normally, u should receive the physical card...
I would suggest you open a SR. My experience was similar to polikepati: I opened a SR on Nov 19th and my 485 was approved Nov 20th. Coincidence?? Probably..
I assume ur I140 is approved. U might want to include ur details in ur signature so that ppl who want to respond have a better idea abt...
The only LUD after FP LUD on my 485 wass for the approval..so, u DONT need to have LUDs to get approval..that being said, u can try calling an IO to see if u get any updates
As others have said, it is on a case-by-case basic..To give u some hope: the mother of one of my friends has been living in the US on a visitor visa for more than 50% of the time for the last 5-6 years. I must note that other conditional factors have probably contributed to her extended stay...
R u looking for the i485 receipt # or the physical receipt?
I believe u can get the receipt # by calling USCIS and giving them ur A# (it should be on ue I140 receipt). U can ask them ifthey can resent the 1485 receipt.
TheRealCanadian,
Can "Cross Chargability" only apply for spouse and not children?
One of my friends and his wife r both from India but their child was born in UK. Mind you, the child does NOT have UK PR..just was born there. Can they apply use "cross chargability" to proceed their case or...
Mano,
I noticed the LUDs with the same updates as u (Card Prod on 11/21, Welcome notice 11/22 & Approval Notice 11/23). I received the card and welcome notice on 11/26..still waiting for the Approval Notice
Did u try calling in to see if ur documents/card was returned by USPS?
Not sure how true that is..I got my card within 6 calendar days and that included the Thankgiving longweekend..Ofcourse, I (or you!!) could be the exception.
Interestingly, I got hte "Approval Notice" status on 11/23 and I'm yet to get the notice..but then I m not worried since I already got...
