My son is in h4 status visa ends on March 2011. He would like to study at college here( he is currently attending high school-12th). Can he transfer from h4 visa to f1 and keep his status as a legal California resident(so that he will be eligible for in state tuition fees)? If yes, What are the formalities? if not, is there any other way so that he could pay instate tuition fees. Oh and by the way we have been here for more than 3 years now. Any help is appreciated.
