They now give 1 year from the approval date. I got my third one the same way, but a month latter got 485 approved.

Kids need their parents. Both parents. What they don't need - fighting parents. Kids should be able to see both parents without watching their fights or their neglect. Americans have their rights to divorce. Why GC holders shouldn't? But anyway, this is not immigration issue to discuss in this...

Hmmm... it is true. And it doesn't mean anything for them, that we were waiting for 485 approval for 6 years, married for 16 years and have 2 kids - only reason for me to stay in US at all now...I feel as in the prison in this free country :mad: By the way, for how long I can stay on GC and do...

Does anybody know good attorney in MA? I need complex consultation for divorce and new marriage to person abroad after my 485 is approved, but one I tried suggested I should get married to American :confused: and it was all his help :rolleyes:

We got our GC via my husband's employment. It was approved and passports were stamped. They told us actual cards will be mailed in 6-9 months. Does anybody know, is it safe already to divorce, or we need to wait until we get actual cards?
