Thanks for the prompt reply.
As I have posted under some other threads, the service center where you file I-90 may make a big difference. Both TSC and CSC are processing Dec. 2004 whereas VSC is still processing March 2004. Since the processing dates don't always tell the true story, we still...
curiousGeorge,
Thanks for the update. Now you got me wonder whether or not I should've e-filed. I assume you filed at VSC, right?
Also, did you get a receipt with a case number when you e-file?
Since you filled at CSC, you may be right about your statement. If you look at the processing dates at CSC for I-90, it is pretty current and they distinguish between 10-year card renewal and card replacement due to errors, etc. The latter is even more current at CSC. In your case, e-file is...
Someone mentioned in another thread that it is A LOT faster filling online than doing it in person. I suspect that argument has any foundation at all. However, in terms of processing time, I think it varies greatly among service centers. California seems to be pretty current on I-90 whereas...
Received I-90 Receipt from VSC today. I was appalled to see the following message (although kinda knew it coming):
"It is taking between 365 and 455 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."
It took them a little over a month to...
What did you mean by "processing"? The time it takes for them to send your new card or for them to send you a notice with a case number? I filled in person and it took about 2 weeks to get the notice.
Two weeks for the card replacement seems to be too fast.
Thanks for sharing the information.
I did mine two weeks ago. Still haven't received anything from them. I hope they don't mess up again this time 'cause all I have is a pathetic slip of paper showing I paid $0 for the application.
usinsuser99,
I came in with an F-1 visa, which isn't really an immigraion visa. So I put N/A on my I-90 form. However, when I was interviewed with an infopass appointment, the information officer insisted that I put in the information even though I entered with a non-immigration visa. Since it...
Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately, I believe the time it takes to get the card after filling I-90 is largely dependent upon the service center. For instance, TSC is currently processing cases filed at around 11/20/2004, but VSC is processing 03/18/2004. We all understand the exact dates they...
In my case, they gave me another passport stamp, which is good for a year. As I mentioned before, the passport stamp should be as good as your green card in most cases. If you need to replace the card, I don't see why you would hesitate to do so.
usinsuser99,
1) Yes, they will take the card back.
2) I checked Permanent Resident - (Not a Commuter). (Didn't think I am a commuter although I didn't understand what exactly it meant.)
3) If you filed i-485 for adjustment of status, it should be your 485 approval date.
4) For me, it's...
Submitted I-90 with an infopass appointment today to fix an error with my gender. One information officer joked about me changing my sex. I wasn't as amused as much though. Anyway, it was pretty similar to the stamping process except they asked me to make a copy of my driver's license at their...
