Besides waivers that are called for interviews are usually subjected to scrutiny. i think your delay is untoward since its been more than 3 years ur waiver is pending.u had ur green card expired in 2007, so u applied for waiver and pending as of today 2009 soon to be 2010.

The lawyer will officially get into the root of the problem at the local office and help release ur file by reviewing the problems and solving them. Eventually ur file will be cleared before citizenship. If the conditions are not removed now they "may" potentially cause problems at citizenship.
