I have a question. I was on OPT and is going to transfer back to a university. Usually the adviser from my old school should sit with the student and decide a SEVIS transfer date. We have a 60 days grace period after the expiration of my OPT. But she did not discuss with me and transferred my SEVIS record right away. Once the SEVIS record comes to my new university, my OPT expires automatically. I mean, on my Work Authorization Card, it is good until later July. I need the money for my upcoming tuition, and I think in this typical case, I was treated unfairly--without being informed. I mean, if I continue working, what is the consequences? Just wish to know. I mean, I still have an activate visa, my new school has not made out my new I-20 yet, and I still have my valid Work Authorization Card--but according my new school, it is automatically expired.
