Important dates: Thanks for your quick reply. (Tata 2003, gc_for_spouse). During the interview they took my wife's fingerprints and told us that they can't approve it rightaway due to national security reasons and they will let us know thru mail(usps) at a later time. We called BCIS...

Still waiting!!! My wife had her I-485 AOS interview at Chiacgo BCIS on Dec. 18th 2002. We haven't received any notice from BCIS regarding GC approval. Her case was transferred to Chicago local office from Atlanta, GA (Texas service center). Noticed lot of people who were interviewed recently...
