    changing visa status

    I am on H4 status in US. The visa expires in July 2006. I want to seek employment and change status to H1b. I am yet to find an employer. Does the cap for H1b quota apply for status change also. If so in which month will the H1b quoto for 2006 be realeased. Are anyone sailing in the same boat.
