Hi, my partner is a US Citizen and I am a UK Citizen, we have been together three years, he is not officially divorced at the moment and is going through the process. I would like to know, how long would it take before we are able to live together in the USA after we get married.
I have read a number of forums on this and none are clear and answer all the questions. So does anyone know if it would be better to:
a) get married in the USA or UK
b) When he applies for the spouse visa for me, and it takes say 6 months, am I able to live with him in the USA pending approval of this or do I have to wait in the UK until this is approved.
Using an immigration lawyer or attorney, what is the fastest and proper route of action to take. I am not so concerned about the length of the total process to getting a green card but more concerned about how long I would have to wait after getting married to actually live together in the USA.
Please can anyone help C
