I was granted withholding of removal in February 2007 when i applied for asylum. I paid $3,000 to my lawyer to file for an appeal on April 2007, but he neglected my case (his license was suspended a little time after). I dialed the INS system 6 weeks ago, and i was told that my case was dismissed since October 2, 2008. So, i called my lawyer several times, he did not want to answer until i e-mailed him and sent him a text message letting him know about it. When he called back he was lying to me that he told me before he is not practicing anymore. Then i requested for my file so i can find another lawyer who can help me, he told me that i can get it the next Monday when he'll be back in town(3 weeks ago). Since that day, he never answered my calls, neither my text, nor my emails. So, i was referred to another lawyer in San Francisco, i have already paid $200 for him to get my files, now he's asking me $10,000 with no guarantee of success. I just lost my job. I really need some advices.
