passport renewal at NY Indian counslate by mail

sorry for posting this in this forum. i sent my passport for renewal 3 weeks back via postal mail to the Indian Counslate in NY How much time do they take for processing. Any experience with this process , kindly let me know . Wil ease my worry on this .
