    A few people told me that if I wasn't a us citizen like when I had my green card I was not allowed to be outside the us for more than 1 year, so I just wanted to make sure its legal if I'm a citizen.

    Hello I'm 20 years old and I will be receiving my passport in a couple of weeks, I'm currently living in Pennsylvania and there a college in Toronto, Canada that I like to go to. Is it legal for a US citizen to be outside of US for long periods of time?
