Jacklantern, thanks for reply. My Grandfather, lived a average of 3 or 4 months per year in his house in Texas, most of this time was in the summers. My father never lived in U.S. and he had the residence for some time. My father and I, we live in Mexico. Regards, AR.

My grandfather was born in USA (deceased), my father was for a time American resident (born outside the U.S.) but resigned to the residence. It is my understanding that at least a couple of times, after which he resigned, my father was invited back to be resident. (All my uncles and cousins are...
