EAD & H1 extension

Hi all, We have received our EAD & Advanced parole few months back and my spouse has used EAD for employment. Now that my H1 is expiring, is it possible to file for an extension to maintain my H1 status. Can we use EAD & maintain H1 status at the same time. Please advise Thanks...
