Your advice needed, pls. help

My I485 was approved. Now I finally have an offer with another employer. This is a contract job, no benefits or whatsoever. I remember somebody post before the percentage of salary that costs employer to pay for employee's benefits. Could you help me on this again? If a salaried employee earns 60K, how much should he request for a contract job?

There's no fixed percentage that costs any employer. The bigger the employer, the better benefits you get (usually, since they get better group rates).

Contract work is a entire different world. The hourly rate is not a mere measurement salary/12 months + benefits. Big time hourly contact people only claculate 70% of their time as billable (on an everage). Add risk factor to that. Add taxes to that (you might end up in a bigger tax bracket). Add expenses. You come up with the number that is comfortable for you.
