Wrong address and appointment of agent

A few weeks ago, the petitioner for our family-sponsored immigration application wrote to National Visa Center to update his address because he had to move overseas temporarily on business assignment. He also requested that duplicate copy of future letters from CIS be sent to his friend, who is an attorney in US.

However, it appears that CIS has mistakenly assumed his friend to be the attorney for our case, as they recently sent our immigration visa processing fee bills directly to that attorney’s address. I would like to notify CIS that we didn’t retain the above-mentioned attorney, as we plan to handle the case on our own.

Since we NEVER received the Choice of Agent and Address (DS 3032) form from NVC, I just wonder how we can give the CIS our own correct address (overseas) to which future correspondence can be sent? Also, If we don’t appoint an agent in US, would that cause any delay or other problems?

Your advice would be highly appreciated!
