As a F1-student, has anyone worked on a remote internship that is not from a U.S. company and has no affiliation with the U.S. while you were physically present in the U.S. the whole throughout the entire internship? Is that considered a violation of F1 status? Do you need to apply for CPT in that case? I asked my school. They ask me to consult with an attorney and it's beyond their knowledge. They can only tell me that I don't need a CPT if I work on the internship outside of U.S.
