Working full time on CPT during school quarter

Hi:

I have a question. I have an internship position where the company wants me for 6 months. I can go on CPT and work full time during the summer. But, the international student's office says that I cannot work full time during the next quarter because it will be a school qtr and that I can do 20 hrs and register for the minimum 12 units to maintain my F1 status. Is this true? I know friends who have worked full time on their CPT through the fall semesters. Please let me know.

I have the same problem as well. If anyone knows anything, please let us know. If there is any articles about that, I would appreciate that as well.
