Will NIW petetion affect H1B processing

Dear Friends,

I am currently on J-1 which expires in December 2008 and my H1B will be filed in May/June 2008. I am working on my GC application and think to file my NIW petition (I-140) around the same time (May-June). I was wondering if this will affect my H1B visa processing. Please advice.

Not in the slightest. Its totally independent and your H1B is dual intent so intending to immigrate is explicitly allowed.
 
I filed my I-140 in April, 2007. And my current institution filed my H1B extension and transfer in May, 2007. Both were approved in October. No conflict as far as I know.
