Will I have to fulfill 2 year HRR if I become a Canadian citizen?

Hi All, I currently have a Canadian permanent residency status, which I got based on Skilled Worker immigration program. I am hoping to get my Canadian citizenship in a short while.
I was wondering if I would be required to fulfill 2 years of HRR in this case. I know for sure that I wouldn't get a favorable decision if I apply for it - I used USIS's funds for my education in the US.
I am also thinking about rejecting my previous citizenship because my native country does not recognize dual citizenship. Is it possible to be under 2 year HRR with a country I don't have citizenship anymore?
Thanks.

Unfortunately Not. The HRR relates to where J1 was issued and does not go away by changing citizenship.U will have to try categories such as NO objection, persecution, hardship etc. Google J1 waiver US state dept website for more details.
Sorry to disappoint i am in same boat!
