wife wants to study

Hi, I am in US on H1B. My wife is currently working in India. She wants to study in USA. Does she needs syudent VISA? or can she get admission in any educational institute just on H4 VISA she will get as my dependent.
Also, is she needed to clear TOEFL, GRE etc.?

Plz. advice.

can she convert H4 to F1?

Thanks for the prompt response.

How difficult/easy it is to convert an H4 to a F1? does she have to go back to India to get that F1 stamped? and wat are the chances of her getting a F1. She is highely qualified with very good acedemic record.

To get F1 one has to have no immigrant intent. If you the spouse are in US on H1, that intent might be difficult to establish more so if you have I-140 or 485 pending. Having said that there are many who have converted to F1 from H4 without much problem.
F1 stamp is required only if she plans to travel after getting F1 status.
