What's the average actual time to receive passport?

I sent my application last week, Dec. 14th 2012 with regular fee. The website says from 4-6 weeks, but could it be faster than that?

During high travel times, it takes longer as more people apply. When there isn't much travel going on, 2 weeks regular processing is possible.
 
I got mine after 10 days. It was pretty quick, but there's one thing that confuses me. For the Given Name, they put first name first, and my middle name comes after. Is that how it goes or is it wrong? Can someone tell me?
 
Doesn't a first name clearly come first, and the middle name after (so that it's in the middle of the full name)? What exactly is your question here?
 
I recently renewed my passport since my old one was about to expire. I renewed via the mail and had my new passport in hand 2 and a half week after mailing the application. I paid the regular processing fee.

In regards to the given name it does go First Middle.
