Vacation to India & L1-B

I have this Question. Kindly answer. Pls consider this situation.

I have valid L1-B visa with company A till Sep 2008.
Company B starts processing H1 from Apr 2007, and the petition is approved eff. from Oct 1, 2007.

I am with Company A as on Oct 1, 2007 & I decide to go for 1 month vacation to India from Oct 10, 2007.

1) Is it mandatory for me to attend the H1 visa interview in India before I return to US ?
2) If not, does that affect the approved H1 petition ?
3) If yes, and if my H1 is stamped, I believe the L1 visa becomes void. Am I Right ?

1) If you want to keep working for B after comming back from vacation, interview at the US consulate and getting H1 stamp is mandatory.
2) No, but you can not enter the US to work for B.
3) L1 stamp is most likely cancelled when you obtain H1 stamp.
