USPS mailing incident

when u ring up the 1800 number of uscis, the agent asks a couple of questions like if you are the applicant, attorney and all , and one of those questions are "are you affected by the usps mailing incident ?" i was wondering what it is and how i would know if i was affected .

so as am in new york, it doesnt apply to me i guess. i wasnt even aware of this mailing incident thingy.....i guess most of us are not.

I was affected by it, my interview was scheduled for January 12th and on Dec 31st 2009, I received the cancellation notice and a few days later received a leter stating that
my case was lost by UPS, did not know, but all cases are housed in Washington, and when you apply for anything, they have to send your file back to your City of residence,
in my case, Miami. They were able to schedule another appointment in Feb 24th, and I am waiting now for the Oath Ceremony date. The problem is, you would have to
open a credit report watch, in case somebody uses your information,.
