US Citizen wants to marry a Canadian Citizen

Greetings: I have a few questions regarding the k-3 visa.
1. For my fiance and I to marry in Canada does the Canadian have to file anything for me to go to Canada to marry?
2. Do we file the k-3 in Canada?
3. If we must file the k-3 in Canada, where do we file? The marriage will take place in British Columbia.
4. How long does the k-3 take to process and be approved?
5. Can I return to the US without my spouse while waiting for the k-3 to be approved?
 
A1: No, I am assuming you are the US citizen in this couple
A2: The K-3 visa will be applied at the Montreal US consulate after the petition is approved stateside.
A3: Filed via the USCIS service center
A4: I am guessing close to 6 months
A5: Ofcouse you can return to the US, you are a citizen!!!
