Travel Outside US after filing N400 & Biometrics

Filed my N400 in August 2016 had my Biometrics September 2016, the processing time with the Phoenix USCIS office is six months (Feb.2017). Am I allowed to travel or stay outside of the US while waiting for my interview appointment? I have signed in for an email update, so maybe I can just wait for either my mailed notice or email interview notice..any advise or experience? Thanks
 
You can travel, be advised that there is always at least 30 days between the notice and the interview...
