My husband and I were recently married. We met with an immigration lawyer to start the process and were told we should save our money and do the filing ourselves. So, here we are scared of making a mistake and with lots of questions!
1. My husband is Canadian (I am a USC) and here on a TN visa, can we file the 1-130 and 1-485 concurrently? Or do we need to wait to be approved for the I-130? Can we throw any other forms in there as well?
2. I have NOT officially changed my last name, but am planning to. I assume that I should continue using my maiden name for now, since that is on all of my documents/passport/SS card?
I don't know what I would do without this site.
