Time Lines for TN Extension by Mail

Hello,

Does anyone here know the answers to the following?

1. how long will CIS take to mail a receipt to the applicant?

2. how long will CIS take to approve the extension if all docs are perfect?

3. Do they mail the above to the applicant's home or company HR?

1. 2 weeks.
2. 2-4 months. You can kind of track this on uscis site
3. Company HR. It is their petition.

I mailed my package in early Aug. USCIS cashed out my check within 6 days. But it has been more than 2 weeks, I have not got the receipt. Does this mean I should call USCIS?

If I have the receipt, I can track the progress online.
 
Ask your employer. If your HR dept is as disorganized as most, it's under a pile in someone's inbox.

But, the receipt doesn't mean much, so chill until about October. There is no "progress" to check. It will be pending, and then it will be approved.

BTW, the check has the case number on the back.

your timely reply is so helpful. I did find my case # on the back of my check. So I have signed up the online status update. Thus, i will know the progress of my case first.

I just recently did a TN mail renewal. Normal processing. Mailed out August 12th, Received August 17th, Approval Granted August 21st. I was surprised how quickly it was and I didn't even pay $1000 for expedited processing.
 
That is astromonically fast!! Maybe so fast that they forgot to put the expiry date on the I-94.
 
my mail renew just came back for 3-year approval. it is a month.

they received my app on aug 10, approved on aug 27.
 
great! I'm beginning to thing CIS is over-staffed right now.

After Oct 01, when all GC quotas are reset, this will slow down again.
 
That was fast, it took me almost 2 months to get it.
I guess they are really over-staffed.
