They sent us RFE 3 month ago and we never received it! What if the deadline expired?

Hi, everybody. Something awful happened. My husband submitted his N-400 on November,15, 2011. Was fingerprinted on time. After almost 4 month of waiting for interview we have decided to check the status of the case. Big surprise. We are supposed to receive RFE 3 month ago. (same address, checking mail box every day).

Can they deny the Application if the deadline for evidence already expired?

Yes, they will consider it abandoned.
Another strange thing is usually for N-400 they don't do RFE, because if they need anything they ask you to bring it to the interview, if the N-400 is accepted (which Evidently it was that's why you got the FP appointment) next step after FP is interview.

When you look online and see RFE for a citizenship case, it usually means fingerprinting. You got the fingerprint notice about 3 months ago, correct?

The RFE that the Case Status check mentions is the FP notice itself, so you have nothing to worry about. This is absolutely standard and happens to everybody: when an FP notice is sent, this fact is recorded in the case status system as an RFE.

They do lump FP notices and RFE's together. That's probably what it was.....

8 CFR § 103.2 Applications, petitions, and other documents.

(b) Evidence and processing

(8) Request for Evidence......

(9) Request for appearance. An applicant, a petitioner, a sponsor, a beneficiary, or other individual residing in the United States at the time of filing an application or petition may be required to appear for fingerprinting or for an interview. A petitioner shall also be notified when a fingerprinting notice or an interview notice is mailed or issued to a beneficiary, sponsor, or other individual. The applicant, petitioner, sponsor, beneficiary, or other individual may appear as requested by USCIS, or prior to the dates and times for fingerprinting or of the date and time of interview:

Thank you, guys, so much for clearing this issue.I am so relieved now. Hope that was about fingerprint procedure.

If you checked status online and it says RFE, then it's FP notice. What you want to do is inquire via Infopass (or IO via phone) to determine the realtime status of your case.
