My Visa(and I-94) had expired a year back, but I have valid Work authorization till Sept’04.
Am I out of status?

I am on H1 visa working as software engineer. I got my H1 extension till Sept’04 but my visa had expired on Dec’ 01.

What other info you required?

I got my H1 extension till Sept’04 but my visa had expired on Dec’ 01." Where is the "work authorization" that you speak of? Do you have a valid I-94 that was issued with you H-1 extension? Do you have an EAD. and if so what is it based on? If all you have is an H-1 approval notice with a validity period until September 2004 but no I-94s were issued with the approval you have a very serious problem.

I think priya got the drift and answered appropriately.
I think it is a cultural thing called communication in a language that is not the mother tongue...
