I was wondering if anyone could help me with a sponsorship question... My father has asked my husband to sponsor his wife for the next couple of years until the paperwork is done, he currently can not show income for the last three years, but my husband can and apprently to show you can sponser someone you have to show certain amount of income for the last three years. What I wanted to know what are the LONG terms issues that are involved and will this have any implications on our taxes/IRS. Your help would be appreciated or any links to information sites would be helpful.

in this country I wouldn't go with forum-advise.
take a good lawyer and let him inform you about this matter.
For example: as a sponsor, I believe that you are legaly responsible for the person you sponsor. in other words: if the person you are sponsoring gets into financial distress, YOU as the sponsor are responsible for him.

Really: get an immigration lawyer and let him advise you!
