security check vs. name check

I was told by USCIS several times (the last time is March, 2005) that they requested my security check on Jan, 2004, and it was still pending.

I sent an email asking for my name check status on Nov. 2004. Today I just got the reply back from FBI. They said my name check was completed on Jan. 2004.

I am wondering, could it be possible that the result got lost when sending back to USCIS? Or some other procedures took more time?

Whom I should contact now? Please suggest. Thanks!

if I were you, I would send fax to my congressman/senator with all the correspondence with USCIS and FBI attached to show the inconsistency, and ask them to raise inquiry.

I sent emails regarding to my name check to both congressman and senator one month ago. No any response until now.
