Raise Act to eliminate family based immigration on siblings of the US citizen

Hi,

The recent Raise Act that is going to be introduced will eliminate application for family based immigration on siblings of the US citizen. My sister applied for me almost 12 years ago and I am still waiting my priority date to become current. If this Raise Act passes, will it also effect the applicant who already petitioned? I only have 1 year left and I was hoping that at least the once who already applied would not be effected.

Depends on a lot of factors. Depends on whether it passes the House and Senate. Depends on the final wording in the Conference. Depends of pending petitions being grandfathered.
