Hello, I have a few questions regarding my petition for a green card.
My husband is a US citizen and we got married 6 months ago. I submitted my pack with my petition on July 2003. On August I received a letter saying that i should go to the INS office and recieve my work autorization. Then I was told to go for fingerprints in the INS office, but since then I have no communication with the INS.
Can somebody please tell me what is the next step and how long it approximately takes?
Also, i came to the US as an F-1 student and the requirements are that I should maintain my full time student status. However, now I am married and I am under petition. I am thinking to take part time classes mext semester and work full time. Does that interfere in any way with the petition for permanent residence?
Do I have to maintain my student status although I pettion for a green card?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I really am not familiar with how the whole thing works.
