Question About Birth certificate..

We are planning to file I130 for my mother-in-law

Her name in her Passport/Visa: First: X <space> Y, Last: Z
Her name in her birth certificate is: X <space> Y (i.e., no last name)

However, her name in my husband’s birth certificate is: X

We used the certificate with her name as X for all our immigration purposes..

Will this cause any problem in the I130 processing.

Any kind of information will be much helpful.

Thanks...

USCIS considers the birth certificate name to be the official name, unless there are additions/changes as a result of a legal action such as marriage?

Apparently she was born as X Y, and then married a man whose last name was Z?

When you say "X" do you mean a single word? Is your husband's father's last name on his birth certificate? Maybe they only put "X" for your mother in law's name because it was assumed that her last name matched her husband (i.e. your husband's father).

Let me elaborate (the names are just examples).

Mom's name in her Passport/Visa: First: John Johnson, Last: Doe

Mom's name in her birth certificate is: John Johnson (the birth certificate does NOT have separate First/Last names. it simply says Name: John Johnson.)

Mom's name in my husband’s birth certificate is: John
My husband's last name is same as her last name: Doe

Will this cause any problem in the I130 processing? What document (if any) do we have to provide to clear any confusion? Thanks.
