Hi Jigesh,

In one of your messages, you said that Professors and researchers will soon be able to stay on J-1 visa upto five years as opposed to the maximum three years as of now.

Is this in effect now? Where can i get the information on this?

I don't know........

No idea. Normally, INS keeps register open (invites public opinion) for a period of one to two months before making a proposal into a rule. If I will come to know about its fate, I will post here. Meanwhile, if you wish, you can do some web browsing or consult an attorney.
