Postponing interview

Hi,

anybody tried postponing interview (applicant out of country)? Specifically, how much delay (days, weeks, months) does this add - if it's short extension, it may not be worth the trouble.

also, requested State issued driver's license or ID but the applicant (75+ yrs) has neither. Any suggestion on how to satisfy this request (ID takes 2 months to get)?

thx.

There is no standard answer as to how long the next appointment will take because it just depends on where you end up in the line.

Make sure you have the passport/GC and some other document like utility bill or AARP card and just explain that because of your age you do not drive and never bothered to apply for a state ID, though, a copy of the application will help.

Postponing the interview is very unpredictable. The new interview date could be 1 month later, or you could be waiting more than 6 months without an interview date.

Be aware that spending too much time outside the US during the naturalization process can result in denial for breaking continuous residence.

Disruption of continuous residency is the primary concern given the unpredictable nature of the postponement process.
