We went to the San Jose CIS office today. We arrived at 5:30, and at 7:00 they announced that today they were introducing Infopass. They were not giving anywhere near the normal amount of tokens, and they had only about 2.5 information officers working. They normally have 5 or 6. They are not announcing Infopass in San Jose on their website but you must get an Infopass appointment, or you will not be seen.

Only 2.5 Immigration officers working?

That was attempt at humor. :) Two officers were plodding away diligently, and one officer would take a case, finish it, then close her window for a while and wander around chatting with her coworkers, so I only counted her as half.

They do seem to have taken Infopass as a reason to have far fewer officers answering questions. Yesterday we went for EAD issuance and three out of 15 windows were open.
