Please Advise - H1 Stamping

Hello,
I am a F1 Visa holder and recently got my H1B Visa approved. The start date on my H1B is October 19 2006. Can I get my stamping done at the consulate prior to the start date (like September 25) or do I need to wait till after October 19 to get my Visa stamped.

You can do it in advance, but too early(such as 4, 5 months before start date) is not recommended.
